Anderson's Pecan Bars

3 C. Flour
¾ C. Sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
1 C. plus 2 Tbsp. Butter
¾ C. Butter
1 ½ C. Brown Sugar
1 ½ C. Karo Syrup
6 Eggs, Beaten
2 tsp. Vanilla
3 ¾ C. Pecans, Chopped
Preheat oven to 350˚ F.
Mix flour, sugar and salt, then cut in 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter with a pastry blender. Press into large cookie sheet and bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden.
In a saucepan combine and heat ¾ cup butter, brown sugar and karo syrup just until dissolved.
Temper the 6 eggs into the saucepan mixture (to temper: beat a small amount of the hot mixture into the eggs then pour all back into the hot mixture.) Add vanilla and pecans.
Spread over cookie sheet crust and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until set.
