2 ½ C. All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
1 C. Buttered, Softened
¾ C. Sugar
¾ C. Packed Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
2 Large Eggs
2 tsp. Water
2 C. (12 oz.) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 C. Chopped Nuts (Optional)
Preheat Oven to 375˚ F.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture and water. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Yields about 5 dozen cookies.

Note: For high altitude, you can decrease the sugar to 2/3.
